The leader of Riddle of Iron, Asberdies, determined in his adventures that his guild was too small to do many thing alone. But he also prefered to do things with those he knew rather than random strangers. So he decided to form an alliance that consisited of other small guilds, so that they could work together to do things that they could not do separately. Thus the alliance was born.
